About the Speaker

Dr. Deepak Vohra, a 1951-born Indian diplomat from the Indian Foreign Service class of 1973, has been acknowledged as a highly intelligent individual. He holds an impressive academic record, having achieved top honors in several esteemed institutions like St. Stephen's College, National Defence College, Sorbonne University, Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.

Vohra has served as a teacher at St. Stephen's College in Delhi University from 1972-73 and was shortlisted by a women's magazine as one of the "most sensational personalities" in India. He has also acted in commercial films and has gained popularity with his TedX video on "OUR WORLD @ 2025". He has served in several countries as a diplomat and held the position of Officer on Special Duty to the Technology Adviser to the Prime Minister of India.

Ambassador Vohra spent four years with Sulabh International, a world-renowned NGO dealing with sanitation. He has also specialized in national renaissance issues for developing nations and is the author of best-selling books. He has been awarded with several accolades, including a gold medal from Armenia and being named Prince of an African tribe.

He has vast international experience and has interacted with numerous national and international leaders who have consistently praised his transparency, sincerity, and integrity. Vohra has been known for his courage and selflessness, as evidenced by his offering to exchange himself for the Indian oil workers who were kidnapped in Sudan and traveling to a remote Ebola-affected area of Guinea to help the villagers despite the danger to his own life.

Vohra is a sought-after speaker, with over 50 million people having heard him speak on Global Megatrends for Megaconvergence and Trust, and Kashmir: The Journey Resumes. He is a special advisor to several governments, including South Sudan, Guinea-Bissau, Kingdom of Lesotho, and the Autonomous Hill Development Councils in the remote Ladakh region of India. He is also the Chairman of a school for special children in Jodhpur and the President of the World Buddhist Centre in New Delhi. Vohra is fluent in French, Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Bahasa Melayu, Hausa, Motu, and Armenian.
